Top 50 "Music Videos" OF ALL TIME

Posted on 2010.08.07 at 11:43
As decided by me. Recently there was another rash of "Top 100 albums" on my LJ friends page, but after beginning my own, I remembered A)I don't really care about albums, I like songs and B)Oh yeah I never finished my Top 100 songs list after my computer crashed. But as I don't currently have the time to recompile and do all the work for the Top 100 songs list, I can do this!

A good marriage between visuals and song is key, but sometimes one takes precedence over the other. Each of these videos has a little magic that draws me in deep and animates the soul.

Caveats: "music video" is a very loose term here. Below are tv performances, promotional videos, ads, scenes from musicals, or just scenes from movies. Anything that combines music and images was fair game. The numbers are more or less meaningless and give only a vague guide to my personal preferences. the number 3 video is no longer on youtube or the internet, not with sound at least. Also I've posted many of these before, sorry if there's tedious repetition. I left off #50 on purpose as tribute to all the videos I forgot/couldn't fit on here.

That's the way to make charts that no one would complain about!

Prior to reading the post I'm shure I seen Love Missile F1-11 (I watched their trilogy (F 1-11, XXI Century Boy on VHS, then I downloaded Sex Bomb Boogie from sputnik.za.net) countless times), Amoreux Solitaire (but I like solo Jacno and Elli et Jacno more) and Automatic Lover (I read in some interview that Dee D. Jackson produced sci-fi movies prior to her music career but IMDB has no information on them).

Never knew that there was a video for Jamie - it seemed to be fairly obscure disco track.

By the way, long time ago I mentioned that I started to make cover La Bionda's I Wanna Be Your Lover, but lost that in HD crash. I was able to rescue file, so here how it was in 2007, early stages:

I didn't know there was a SSS trilogy

that cover sounds pretty cool, I'd like to hear more and see where its going!

I expected no less, a delightfully obscure lot.
